What is Individual Therapy?

Individual therapy, also known as talk therapy or psychotherapy, is a collaborative process between you and a trained therapist. In one-on-one sessions, you'll have the opportunity to explore your emotions, behaviours, and thought patterns in a safe and non-judgmental environment.

At Talk It Out Therapy Centre, I use a person-centred approach combined with evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to help you gain insight, develop coping strategies, and create lasting, meaningful change in your life.

What to Expect in a Session

Initial Assessment

In your first session, we'll discuss what brought you to therapy, your history, and what you hope to achieve. This helps me understand your unique needs and create a tailored treatment plan.

Building Trust

Over the first few sessions, we build a strong therapeutic relationship. You set the pace — there's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with.

Active Exploration

Together, we explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Using CBT, mindfulness, and other techniques, we identify patterns and develop new strategies for managing challenges.

Growth & Integration

As you develop new skills and insights, we work on integrating them into your daily life. Therapy ends when you feel empowered and equipped to move forward independently.
